This tutorial will guide you through the steps for setting up your Payfast custom payment integration.

1. Begin by clicking on Payments Integrations in your menu.

Next, locate the Payfast app in the list and click on Connect.

Under the Manage screen, click on Manage again.

2. Note that the Merchant Live settings are distinct from the Merchant Test settings.

3. To acquire your Live settings, you must open a Payfast account at payfast.io. After verifying your account, retrieve your Merchant Live settings to conduct the setup.

4. In the Sandbox area, you will be able to access your Merchant ID and Merchant key. You must also set an SALT passphrase by typing in any private passphrase of your choice.

Click on Edit Passphrase to confirm the successful saving of this passphrase.

5. For this demonstration, enter your test credentials in both the Test and Live Settings areas to set up your account.

Simply repeat this process for both boxes.

In this demo, I will utilize my test credentials to proceed with the installation of this domain gateway.

6. Click on Connect to finalize the setup.

A settings updated pop-up will appear once completed.

7. At this point, the Payfast gateway is successfully connected.

8. When you are ready to run live payments, ensure you register your Payfast account and replace your Live Merchant settings with your active Payfast account credentials.

9. Click to return to Back to all apps.

On the Manage Payment screen, you will see green check marks indicating that both Live mode and Test mode are active.

10. Click Set as default to designate Payfast as your preferred payment gateway.
